Shoegaze Indie Rock Leftfield Pop

Clover Records was founded in Tokyo in 1995 as a cassette label specialising in home recordings, capturing a parallel stream of genre-agnostic guitar pop that mirrored the glossy, saccharine Shibuya-kei sound that dominated the decade. Artists such as Kactus, 800 cherries, red go-cart and Pervenche give a more homespun lens on indie pop, influenced by global trends in shoegaze, dream pop, twee and indie folk.
