In Focus: Fairuz

Popularly considered one of the most famous living Arab singers and crown jewel of Lebanese music, Fairuz rose to the pinnacle of her career during the late 60s / early 70s, going on to produce hundreds of albums with the help of the two Rahbani brothers and later her son, Ziad Rahbani. Her repertoire on recordings and in performance offered a broad spectrum of material hard to match - from classical language tomes, folk, jazz and blues, Eastern tarab, and Western classical, to art, theatre, and patriotic songs.
