A duo formed of Miho Hatori & Yuka Honda, two Japanese transplants in New York, Cibo Matto were inexplicably ahead of the curve with any musical trends considered en vogue in the 1990s and noughties. Their creative output, a melting pot of hip hop and trip hop production, sample plundering, punk DIY energy and pop sensibilities located them at a centre point between Stereolab, Beastie Boys, & Boredoms.
