One of the most critically and commercially popular soul vocalists in Brazil, Rio's Sandra de Sá has been active since the early 1980s. Drawing from a rich national canon of samba and jazz, as well as US influences like Motown and southern blues, she became a pivotal figure in Brazil's post-bossa nova MPB musical scene.
