The Mansons has been played on NTS shows including Crossed Wires w/ Amanda Siegel, with I Died Four Times! (But I Don't Wanna Talk About It) first played on 17 July 2020.

The Mansons is a 4-piece (sometimes 5-piece) band, fronted by 3 singer/songwriters who share a common "fascination with the extremes of human nature". Their influences are many, and their musical style is dark, dramatic rock & roll with lyrics that often radiate sarcasm and irony.

They usually produce or co-produce their own recordings, with heavily effected guitars and multiple vocal parts, occasionally incorporating elements of electro. Noteworthy collaborations with The Mansons have included Andrew Beck, Kramer, and Simon Day. Their first release Blood, Love and Rhetoric was recorded in 2007 at Damien Gerard Studios (available in shops in 2008). Their debut album is slated for release in 2010 and features guest vocals from Ratcat's Simon Day on what is anticipated to be the first single This Day Forward.

The Mansons were originally called The Charles Manson Experiment, and in 2005 their song Unmanned Canyon (Save Us Soon) was recorded for the Grow Your Own Vol. 10 Aus music compilation cd and released under that moniker. In 2006 the band began abbreviating to The Mansons and in 2008 they made the change official. Limited copies of the 7-track debut EP Blood, Love & Rhetoric can still be found under the original name, though it was re-released under The Mansons.

From 1981-83 there was an unrelated band from Newcastle NSW called "The Mansons", who referred to themselves as "Newcastle's Foremost Punk Band". They recorded 2 songs: What Is Her Name and B-side I Died Four Times (But I Don't Wanna Talk About It).

Sydney's The Mansons (2004-present) are in no way affiliated with the ephemeral shock punk group.
