Fernando Tordo that in addition to composer, singer and artist is also dedicated to writing and painting, was born in Lisbon on 29 March 1948, at Rua Feio Terenas.
First sang in public at ten years as part of the choir of the Colégio Moderno. At twelve began learning guitar, having begun his professional career in 1965 in the group "The Deltons". In 1967, replaces Carlos Mendes in "Sheiks", with features singer and guitarist for accompaniment. He remained there until his first appearance at the Festival RTP da Canção (1968 / 9).
It is from this time that works for the first time with José Carlos Ary dos Santos, forming one of the most important partnerships linked to the Portuguese music.
Many of the hundreds of works produced were made to other great singers like Carlos do Carmo, Paulo de Carvalho, Angela Farrell, Beatriz da Conceição, Simone de Oliveira and many others who have in their repertoire themes of these two creators.
His participation in the "Festivais da Canção" (1969/70/71/72/73/77/84) were a big take-off of his career, having been, along with Paulo de Carvalho, the first Portuguese interpreter participating twice the Eurovision Contest.
Between 1982 and 1986 lived in the Azores, Faial Island, where he composed two of his most important albums - "Anticilone" and "Ilha Do Canto," that won several awards in our country and point out his collaborations with François Rauber, arranger and leader orchestration of the entire career of Jacques Brel.
In 1988 records in London, with orchestrations of José Calvário " Menino Ary dos Santos. " In 1989 performs with Pedro Osorio, Paulo de Carvalho and Carlos Mendes "Só nó Três". In 1994 and 1995 recorded at Abbey Road Studios " Só ficou o Amor por Ti" and " Lisboa de Feira", with this great Jazz Orchestra, National Youth Jazz Orchestra.
In 1997 begins the series of recordings in Barcelona with arranger Josep Mas "Kitflus.
Then write "Peninsular," "E no entanto ela move-se " and "Tributo aos laureados Nobel - Tordo canta ", which is an important work in which F.Tordo musics 12 Nobel Prizes for literature, poets, José Saramago was the inspiring "source ", with the poem" Circus ".

In 2003 wrote to the Oro Faber "Fantásticas, fingidas, mentirosas" and in 2007 his first book of poetry, "Quando não souberes copia"
In June 2008 , F. Tord, by invitition of Biblioteca Operária Oeirense, made his first exhibition of his painting, "O sol é azul"."
