Matthew Veselisin, known by his stage names bsd.u and monk., is a lo-fi beats producer hailing from Vancouver Island.

Under the moniker bsd.u, pronounced "beside you," he gained significant popularity through his SoundCloud account during the platform's peak in the early and mid-2010s. Many of his tracks were featured in YouTube edits, contributing to his widespread recognition, and some of his works reached over a million plays on SoundCloud.

Throughout his career, Matthew has collaborated with other renowned SoundCloud artists such as bob le head, DJ YUNG VAMP, knowmadic, and slr.. He expanded his fanbase by joining the Inner Ocean Records collective, where he worked alongside fellow producers, releasing several projects, including the enigmatic cassette "leaving" in 2015 under his alter ego monk. The release received positive feedback from his audience and fellow beatmakers.

One of his most successful albums to date is "pook," released in 2017, which includes hit singles like the eponymous track "pook" and "_." Both singles surpassed one million plays in total.

In the past, Matthew maintained a Tumblr account and a Twitch channel, where he live-streamed beatmaking sessions, until he discontinued both in 2018. He later created a Discord server, where he actively engages with fans and shares excerpts of his work, as well as another Twitch channel for beatmaking sessions.

As an artist, he consistently delivers the signature low-key, lo-fi hip-hop sound that resonates with his audience, evoking a feeling of unwinding from a party while grooving to the music.
