Otroci socializma (Children of Socialism) were a Slovenian punk rock band from the golden era of Slovenian punk. As their contemporaries, they faced censorship and dealt with it in creative ways (e.g., they played a gig with plasters over their mouths). When the band changed their only guitarist in 1983, the sound changed in favour of funk beats. After breaking up in 1986 most members continued their music path in other bands.
Brane Bitenc: vocalist and text writer (previously of Berlinski zid) Roman Dečman: drums Andrej Štritof: bass (later continued as manager for Videosex, Buldožer and Laufer) Darko Bolha: guitar Janez Križaj: guitar (founded Videosex after break-up) Iztok Turk: guitar (founded Videosex after break-up) Dare Hočevar: (second) bass (joined Laibach and Sokoli after break-up, plays in Carina nowadays) Andrija Pušić: guitar (instead of the previous three guitarists; continued with Rambo Amadeus after break-up)
Their lyrics (in Slovenian) were the band's forte. They mostly dealt with social issues, discrimination, substance abuse and desperation.
