Pikelet

Pikelet

Pikelet was first played on NTS on 4 November 2019. Songs played include Hiding From Houses.

Pikelet is a band from Melbourne, initially just the name for solo artist Evelyn Morris (Baseball, True Radical Miracle), who begun playing music in indie and hardcore bands as a drummer and vocalist.

After leaving these bands, they started overlapping acoustic guitar, piano accordion, voice and alternative percussion techniques with a looping pedal, and created a handmade demo CD, 'Chair + Lamp', unofficially released in mid-2006, followed by another self-released EP, entitled, 'Track-Suit Pants EP', in January 2007, followed by their self-titled debut album released in May 2007, which drew critical attention and allowed them to tour overseas. Since 2008, Evelyn has performed and recorded with a band. As a band, Pikelet released Not So Still EP in early 2009, before commencing an international tour with Bachelorette later in the year, in the U.S, and supporting other acts. Pikelet was officially retired in 2019 with a concert. Evelyn Morris has since released music under their own name, including the score to the film Acute Misfortune.
