Belle Gonzalez has been played on NTS shows including Mikey Young, with Bottles first played on 30 June 2022.

Belle Gonzalez is an Italian-born jazz and folk singer of Polish, Filipino, Spanish and Chinese descent. Having grown up in Italy and Belgium she moved to the United Kingdom. She released just one album, Belle (1972).

Belle’s singing career really began in 1950 in the Philippines. She was successful and travelled to Okinawa, Bangkok, then Singapore, where she met the Englishman who was to become her husband and moved to the United Kingdom with him.

Belle recorded her only album for EMI Columbia. Her songs were also recorded by others (Cilla Black and Dahlia Lavi both recorded the song 'Black Paper Roses'), but sadly, many of her songs remain unpublished and unrecorded today.
