Further

Further

Further has been played on NTS in shows including Louise Chen , featured first on 4 September 2019. Songs played include Generic 7, Way Too Much and Surfing Pointers.

There are several artists with this name: 1) an American indie-pop band led by brothers Brent and Darren Rademaker 2) a collaboration of ex-Grateful Dead members Phil Lesh and Bob Weir 3) an Australian punk band led by brothers Leo and Matt Coyte

1) Led by brothers Brent and Darren Rademaker, the mid-'90s indie pop outfit Further transformed from an earlier band, Shadowland, who issued a pair of albums for the Geffen label, 1989's self-titled debut and 1990's The Beauty of Escaping, before becoming Further. Whereas their precursor band was based in '60s music, Further was more a kin to such '90s alt-rock icons as Nirvana, Sonic Youth, and Dinosaur Jr. The Rademaker brothers issued several releases under the Further name during the mid- to late '90s, including such titles as Grip Tape, Sometimes Chimes, Grimes Golden, and Next Time West Coast. After splitting up Further, Brent and Darren formed Buffalo Springfield-esque group The Tyde, while Brent also formed the country-pop group Beachwood Sparks.

3) Touring Post-Dead configuration formed in September 2009 with Phil Lesh, Bob Weir, Jeff Chimenti, John Kadlecik, Jay Lane and Joe Russo

3) Further are an Australian punk rock band. Since 1998, they've been deafening audiences in their hometown of Sydney (amongst national and internatial tours) with their blend of intricate guitar-driven rock and avante-leanings. Their staunch adherence to evolving their particular "sound" has made Further the sort of band that will go down as more than just a punk band, and in years to come, they will be seen as a classic Australian act.

Consisting of brothers Leo and Matt Coyte on guitar/vocals, bassist Andrew Cowland, and drummer Darren Skelsey, Further are unpredictable and unwilling to bend to trends. They've been described as "Unfashionable and untameable" by the UK's Rocksound, one of the ten Australian bands to watch by NME and their record Further! made it into Rolling Stone's Top 50 Records of 2005.

Since their debut The Crow Road, they've released a solid slew of records, all criltically acclaimed. The self titled Further! is their latest, and their most focused and song-driven to date.
