Mother Night has been played on NTS in shows including Tropic of Love w/ Mafalda , featured first on 20 May 2019. Songs played include Warm Spot and Fools Are You.

Mother Night refers to three bands, a defunct NYC funk band of the early 1970's and two 21st century east coast indie hard rock bands:

1) The original Mother Night was a 70's era 9 piece soul band from New York that mix jazz/soul/funk with an occasionally fierce lead guitar. Mother Night is a rare hybrid of a cross-pollination of the best of the Apollo with the best of the Fillmore East.

2) Mother Night also was a hardcore band from New Brunswick, New Jersey. The band is heavily influenced musically by groups such as 108 and Endeavor, and has released a self-titled 7-inch (2004), an ep (2005), and a full-length (2007). Members play/have played in Outsmarting Simon, Scream Hello, Hellhole, the Banner, and Shape Shifter.

3) The most recent and the only active Mother Night is a three piece instrumental math rock band from New Bedford Massachusetts. Formed in late 2008 they have released one LP, one EP and two demos. The band is about to release their final recordings in the form of a split with Dropouts. All of their releases are available for free download at http://www.mothernight.bandcamp.com
