Longshoremen were an unbelievably weird Bay area beat poetry group, led by a lyricist/musician by the name of "Dog." Their 1985 debut LP (never released on CD as far as I know) "Grr Huh Yeah" (on Subterranean Records and produced by members of Voice Farm) featured off kilter percussion (yep, the bongos are there!), haunting stand-up bass and Dog's ultra strange vocal inflections/shouts/moans. Imagine a jazzier Stump being fronted by an LSD…
