Ricardo Graça Mello was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on August 7, 1961. He is the son of actress Marília Pêra and musician Paulo Graça Mello and brother of music producer Guto Graça Mello.

Ricardo lost his father at the age of 8. He is the grandson of actors Manuel Pêra and Dinorah Marzullo, great-grandson of actress Antônia Marzullo, nephew of actress Sandra Pêra and half-brother of actresses Esperança Pêra Motta and Nina Morena who are daughters of his stepfather Nelson Motta - a journalist, composer, producer and one of the most knowledgeable aficionados of Brazilian music, who has published several books on Brazilian Brazilian Popular Music (MPB).

Since his childhood, Ricardo took advantage of his inherited talent, becoming an actor, singer and musician. At age 6 he debuted on TV Tupi. During his trajectory, he invested both in music and in the art of acting, whether on the small screen, cinema or theater. He worked a few times alongside his mother, including dancing and singing in the successful soap opera "Elas Por Elas" at Globo TV.

In 1967 at the age of 6 he debuted on TV Tupi, in the soap opera "Gosto Amargo de Fel". The following year he acted in the soap "Os Jovens".

In 1978 his stepfather Nelson Motta formed the Mistura Fina band in Rio, where Ricardo sang accompanied by the not yet consecrated artists Lulu Santos, Liminha and Arnaldo Brandão. They performed at the famous nightclub Frenetic Dancing Day, at Morro da Urca in Rio.

In 1982, he played the character Pepeu, in the movie "Menino do Rio", singing the great hit "De Repente California" (Lulu Santos & Nelson Motta). In 1983, he acted in the movie "A Suspeita", alongside Walmor Chagas.

Ricardo was hired by Rede Globo TV in 1984, to produce children's specials, such as "Pirlimpimpim" and "A Turma do Pererê" which became major national hits.

In 1985 he was part of the cast of the movie "Garota Dourada" as Zeca, singing the hits "Romance e Aventura" and "Como Uma Onda".

He debuted alongside his mother Marília Pera for the first time in 1989, dancing and singing in one of the biggest box-office hits of Brazilian national theater, "Elas por Ela" (created and directed by Marília).

Following a national artistic movement, he moved to Florianópolis in 1992 where alongside great instrumentalists such as Guinha Ramirez he acquired experience and musical maturity.

Back in Rio de Janeiro in 1995, he started a national tour with the play "Francisco de Assis", by Ciro Barcelos, which lasted three years.

From 1996 on he began acting in children's musicals, such as "Os Saltimbancos", by Chico Buarque and "Brincadeiras da Gata Maria", by Maria Lúcia Priolli.

In 1997 he signed a contract for a two-month tour of Africa. The following year he was part of the cast of the movie "O Viajante".

In 2000 he acted, sang and danced in the musical "Estrela Tropical", alongside Marília Pêra. With this same show he performed in Europe in 2001. Later that year he sang at the Miami Film Festival.

In 2002 Ricardo acted for a year in the great musical "Victor ou Vitória" in São Paulo. He recorded a CD produced by Ado Velho and directed by Laudir de Oliveira and Lula Montagna and post-production by maestro Guto Graça Mello. He also recorded the independent CD “Ricardo Graça Mello” and filmed the music video for the song "De Repente California" in Rio Grande do Sul featuring his friend Felipe Dylon; the song was featured on MTV and MULTISHOW channel.

In 2003 he acted in the theatrical comedy "A Saga da Senhora, Café". The following year he starred in the play "O Jogo", where he played six different characters, directed by Tina Ferreira (daughter of actress Bibi Ferreira, one of the main Brazilian actresses).

In 2005, he was part of Rede Globo TV, in the cast of the comedy show "Zorra Total". He also recorded the DVD PLOC´S 80, alongside 80s Brazilian performers like Rosana, Eduardo Dusek, Inimigos do Rei, Silvinho Blau-Blau, accompanied by Banda Perdidos na Selva.

In 2006 he was part of Bando da Lua in the musical "Carmen Miranda", directed by Maurício Sherman. He was part of additional "Zorra Total" shows with a band in Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.

In 2007 he was part of the Children's Musical "Um Lobo Nada Mau", directed by Marília Pêra. He acted as the wolf and also produced of the soundtrack. He was part of the show until July 2008 and in August he began rehearsals in São Paulo for the musical "Noé Noé", directed by Ivaldo Bertazzo. He also maintained a schedule of concerts in Porto Alegre and Florianópolis.

In 2009 he took part of one more children's play "Um Lobo Nada Mau" as well as the show "Carmen Miranda em Bossa Nova".

Ricardo continued performing throughout the 2010s. He cancelled shows after his mom’s passing in 2015 due to depression, but kept on touring throughout Brazil until the 2020’s pandemic hit.
