Caedmon (named after a seventh-century Anglo-Saxon poet-monk) is an acid/psychedelic folk band formed in 1973 in Edinburgh. They disbanded in Edinburgh in 1978 and reformed in 2008.

Formed in 1973 by a trio of veterinary students attending Edinburgh University, the band expanded to a quartet the following year and embarked on a touring career. They appeared in Edinburgh Festival Fringe at The Netherbow Arts Centre in 1976 and 1977, and at the Greenbelt Festival in 1977. They performed on same bill as Water into Wine Band in…
