Daniel Johann (born in 1996) is a musician from Collingwood, South Island, New Zealand, currently based in Wellington. Now releasing music under the name Adore, 1996 as well as his own name, Johann creates a sonic landscape characterized by lo-fi dream pop and ambient elements, infused with influences from hip hop and various other genres.

The name Salvia Palth was used for the album "melanchole", released in 2013 when Daniel was only 15 years old. The artist name is a wordplay on the poet Sylvia Plath. Plath's introspective poetry often delved into her mental state and referenced significant moments in her life, which aligns with the thematic elements present in Johann's work.

Following the release of the album "Melanchole" as Salvia Palth, the project seemingly went on hiatus. In 2016, Daniel Johann transitioned from the moniker Salvia Palth to Adore, 1996. His musical direction appears to have shifted under this new alias, exploring electronic and hip hop genres in albums such as "World Anti-God Freedom X" released under Adore, 1996.

After the abandonment of the project, Salvia Palth has since garnered a large fanbase since being featured on the Spotify playlist "*end credits", leaving Salvia Palth with over 4,5 million monthly listeners as of July 2023.
