Stefan Tiedje is a German musician born in Stuttgard in 1956. He studied physics, electrical engeneering and acoustics in Marburg and Berlin. In 1984 he started to work on algorithmic composition by programming computers. In 1986 he began live improvisations with computer controlled sound sources and effects. Tiedje won Silver Amadeus at the "Musik Kreativ" competition in 1993. From 2003 to 2008 he worked as musical assistant at the CCMIX in Paris. In 1988 he released his only album Polyrische variationen.
