There are multiple artists called Shalom:
Shalom was a popular Czech band, formed in 1991 by 3 members of previous well-known band called Ocean (Petr Muk, Petr Kucera, Petr Hons). In 5 years of existance, 2 regular albums were released (Shalom 1992, Brany Vzkazu 1994), 2 compilations and few EPs. Most of their lyrics and also image were influenced by Judaism.
Steve "Shalom" Harper was a reggae DJ who released his debut album (Baby I've Got News For You) in 1999. A former protégé of Sugar Minott and his Black Roots/Youth Promotion organization, Shalom burst onto the reggae scene with an unabashedly tender, vulnerable lovers rock sound. In 2001, Harper rededicated his life to his religion and has since become a gospel singer. With the help of his Pastor, Rosemarie his wife and Producer (Deacon Lloyd Barnes), his first gospel album was made in 2004 thus launching his Ministry of Music. Harper is now a pastor and a prominent leader of Faith in Action Deliverance Ministries Bronx, New York.
Shalom is an indie-dance pop artist raised in South Africa and based in Brooklyn who signed with Saddle Creek last summer soon after featuring on Quarter-Life Crisis, the project of producer Ryan Hemsworth. Her debut album is Sublimation (2023).
