London based experimental producer, composer and vocalist, Leifur James is back with ‘Sirens’, the first track of his upcoming EP The Year Turns to Air. Out on November 24th, the EP is supported by a new tour that saw Leifur James play across Europe in October this year including stops at AB Brussels and Melkweg Amsterdam. In November, he will be touring the UK with a first show on November 2nd at London’s Village Underground.
This EP is the latest of Leifur James’ work, after his second album Angel in Disguise released June 2020 via Late Night Tales original artist label. Angel In Disguise offered a blend of harmonic vocals from James, driven modular arps and vibrant drum patterns - alongside bespoke visuals, directed by Balázs Simon. 2018 saw James release his esteemed debut album A Louder Silence and follow up remix EP that championed upcoming electronic talent including Bruce, Oliver Coates and Whities producer, Coby Sey, on rework duties amongst others - projects which captured the attention of key tastemakers including Resident Advisor, Pitchfork, Mixmag, Electronic Sound, Future Music UK. Beginning his collaboration with Hungarian director, Balázs Simon in March 2018; James produced the critically acclaimed, ‘Wurlitzer’ project, seeing support from Boiler Room, CLASH, the BFI, Directors’ Notes, Motionographer, the UK and Berlin Music Video Awards, the London Short Film Festival, Dublin International Film Festival and more.
