Born in Chicago 1954, by age 14 Al Stone was in a local band, playing R&B, Blues, and Rock. At the age of 15, Al recorded his first record with some young, local players. At 16, Al could be found jamming with bands such as the world renowned, Lovecraft band, While jamming at a local blues club 1979, Al impressed Chicago Blues Man, Jimmy Johnson so much that he was invited to the world famous Kingston Mines for a jam session sitting in with Big Moose Walker, Lefty Dizz and other blues greats of that time, and most recently with Bob Mandarino,and Eddie C. Campbell, at a "invitation only " Phil Guy, tribute studio Jam Session [ 2009 ]. These blues greats encouraged Al, telling him, that he should continue to play the Blues full time.
While touring the Modern Day Chittlin Circuit, Al Stone settled in Jacksonville, Fl where he was immediately introduced to many well known Jacksonville artists. Al then recorded his first solo EP "I WANT IT All", with Debbie Bailey (Lynyrd Skynyrd back up singer), Banner Thomas (the original bassist for Molly Hatchet), Robbie Morris (from the Johnny Van Zant Band), Erik Guess (from Cotton Mouth), and the late Denny Best (from Chicago's famed Big Twist & The Mellow Fellows). All of this took place while Al was hosting a jam session in Jacksonville, Fl with drummer, Artimus Pyle of Lynyrd Skynyrd fame.
