(1) Norman V Evans (August 27, 1958), is an American Grammy Contemporary Jazz Keyboardist and Saxophonist.

Earning rave reviews for his compositions as well as euphoric praise for the stunning execution and presentation at his live performances, six time Grammy nominated saxophonist/keyboardist Norman Evans is creating new fans at every venue he performs. Blending pop, gospel, jazz and R&B, Norman has great musical chops and compositional skills that have enormous appeal and connect with the audience and leave them wanting more, “Norman“ has opened for a number of national artists: Spyro Gyra, (the late) George Howard, Pieces of a Dream, Gerald Alston, Miles Jaye just to mention a few as well as performed on numerous television shows within the Maryland & Connecticut regions.

Norman’s passions extend far beyond creating music Norman created “The Norman Evans Foundation” which provides food for needy students and their families in Anne Arundel County. The nexus of this ideal was to remove hunger as a barrier from obtaining a quality education and bring better involvement from the school system and family members. The “The Norman Evans Foundation” has been successfully assisting Ann Arundel County residents for nine years, received a “Program of Excellence” award from the Anne Arundel School System and has fed over 5,000 families. As if that wasn’t enough Norman has created a new advanced study program focused on the middle school levels. The program is called “Discovery Primer” and the goals are to bring people from both the entertainment professions as well as the medical field and public safety to the students. The organizations and business groups that have signed on are leaders within their fields; Grammy, S.A.G, M.I.T., Yale University, Columbia University, BMI, ASCAP, SEASAC, Disney, ESPN, Julliard School Of Music, just to name a few. So that the students see the opportunities available to them through education and get a head start on course selection and a commitment to staying in school.

The musical prognosticators are acknowledging the growing market for Contemporary Jazz, now it is called ‘Smooth Jazz’ and “Norman’s” music is all of the above and more.

Norman Evans is someone I think you definitely will want to see and listen to on a number of levels
