There are at least five music acts using the name PVC, each originating from different countries and musical backgrounds:
1) The German punk band PVC was formed in 1977 and was one of the first punk bands in Germany, alongside Male. Despite being active early in the German punk scene, they did not release a full-length album until 1983, titled "PVC." The band dissolved in 1984, reunited in 1988, and disbanded again in 1991.
2) A Dutch punk band also used the name PVC. The group included Terry on bass, who later became one of the founding members of the band Cheap'n'Nasty in 1980.
3) PVC, short for Poly Vinyl Chlorid, was a Norwegian band that began in April 1980. They were among the first bands in Norway to start their own independent label. Active until 1982, they released three 7-inch records and two mini-albums. Their style evolved from punk and new wave into a more synth-based rock sound. Notable members included Bitten Forsudd, who later joined Einmal Kommt Die Liebe, and Eivind Rølles of the pop group The Monroes.
4) PVC was also a Belgian hip hop group formed in Zedelgem, West-Vlaanderen. The group consisted of four MCs — MC Chinese, MC Behavia, MC Etcetera, and MC Lapin — and DJ Unbelievable. They released a CD titled "De Probatie," which included 11 tracks and 2 bonus tracks on the first ten copies. The group eventually disbanded due to lack of time to pursue music further.
5) Another act using the name PVC was a project by Dutch hardcore techno producers Dano and No Sweat. Under this alias, they released the track "65-47-3" on the 1995 compilation "Thunderdome VIII."
Additionally, Ari J. Ruokamo has released music under the same name.
