DJ Sniff has been played on NTS shows including Meuko! Meuko!, with in The Mix - My Illusion first played on 20 August 2018.

dj sniff (Takuro Mizuta Lippit) believes in the instrumental autonomy of the turntable and the musicianship of the DJ. His music focuses on the reconstruction of phonographically amplified sounds through electro-acoustical methods and techniques of turntablism. He has performed in numerous venues in the U.S., the U.K., Japan, Russia, Romania, Austria, Italy, Germany, France, Lithuania, Croatia, the Netherlands and has been invited to perform at festivals such as Bent 05 (US), Interactivity 05 (NL), State-X 05 (NL), Transmediale 06 (DE), NIME 06 (FR), DEAF 07 (NL), Springdance 07 (NL), Sonorities 07 (UK), Jauna Musika 07 (LT), Koln Musik Triennale 07 (DE).

dj sniff was born in the U.S., raised in Japan. While studying art history and philosophy in Tokyo, he was active as a DJ in the underground electronic music scene and formed a collective called smashTV productions which organized genre-mixing events such as anti-Gravity and bistro-Smash!.

In 2002, he moved to New York to pursue graduate studies in computer music and physical computing at NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program. He is currently residing in the Netherlands, as a visiting hardware developer and Artistic Co-Director of STEIM, Studio for Electro-Instrumental Music in Amsterdam.

As a DJ he has shared the bill with Karafuto, DJ Klock, Safety Scissors, Jake Mandell, Andreas Tilliander, Mikael Stravostrand, DJ Bun, Princess Super Star, DJ Drummatic, and many others. As an Improviser he regularly performs with Yutaka Makino as Audile and has performed with Michel Waisivz, Mazen Kerbaj, Keir Neuringer, Clare Cooper, Sharif Sehnaoui, Tom Tlalim, DJ Yim, Nora Heilman and Robert van Heumen.
