Steve Cobby is a British electronic musician, composer, DJ and producer, based in Hull, Yorkshire.

Cobby co-founded Fila Brazillia with David McSherry in 1990. From 1990 to 1998 Fila Brazillia releases were on the Hull based Pork Recordings established by David 'Porky' Brennand and Cobby. In 1999 Cobby and McSherry set up the Yorkshire based Twentythree Records with Sim Lister.

As Fila Brazillia Cobby and McSherry released 10 albums + one 'Best of' , 24 singles and EP's, and countless numbers of remixes.

Following the release of their 'Retrospective' album in 2006, Fila Brazillia quietly split.

In 2006 Cobby and Lister established Steel Tiger Records.

Steve Cobby now works with Porky as 'The Cutler', with Rich Arthurs of Orgatronics as 'Peacecorps', with Sim Lister as one half of JSTAR*S, with Lister and Jake Harries as Heights of Abraham, with Stephen Mallinder (founding member of Cabaret Voltaire)as Hey, Rube! formerly The Light Programme, with DJ and club owner Adam Regan as Chieftain and on his own as The Solid Doctor.

As 'The Cutler' Cobby has released an album (cd and download) Cutler in July 2008, and a 5 track (download only) EP entitled Black Flag in August 2009. A new album The Best Things In Life Aren't Things will be released on July 16 2012

The 2010 'Light Programme' mix of Billie Ray Martin's 'The Crackdown' can be found on 'The Crackdown Project - Vol.2 - Darkness Restored'.

As a member of Heights of Abraham Cobby has released three albums Humidity in 1993, *Electric Hush in 1995, and Two Thousand And Six in 2005. Electric Hush was re-released in 1998 by ZTT.

JSTAR*S released an album (cd and download) in 2006 entitled Put Me On A Planet. Loose Nuke Threat from this album was used in 2004 and 2005 by the John Lewis Partnership for their spring advertising campaign (including TV and cinema) - ' Spring Is Here'.
