Hokkaido native Sakana Hosomi has been producing electronic/ambient music since 1997. Having studied piano from a young age, he continued his education in a music academy, and commenced his career in 1984 as a professional keyboardist.

Among his countless acronyms, some of the most well known are neina with releases on Mille Plateaux and Maju from the Australian label EXTREME.

Since 2008, he has been releasing under his real name.
