Poet, Spoken Word Artist, Lyricist, Visual Artist.
Lorie Caval and Eric "EMan" Clark co-founded the long running underground NYC dance event, Bang The Party (1997-2003) and co-produced it's conceptual compilation album "Bang The Party: Volume One" (Jellybean Recordings). Lorie and EMan wrote lyrics for hit singles, "I Am the Road" (Markus Enochson feat. EMan on MAW Recordings) and "I'm a Lot Like You" (EMan & The World's Most Beautiful on Jellybean) adding to EMan's already impressive discography - which includes international hits like "It's Yours" and "Musical Prayer" to name just a few.
When EMan and Chicago-based producer Doc Link launched their own record label, Liberate, in 2006 - Lorie was asked to collaborate. Knowing that poetry is one of Lorie's artistic pursuits, not only did they ask her to write lyrics, they invited her in front of the mic, to record her own spoken work songs. Lorie's first solo single, "He Broke My Heart" was released with critical acclaim and has enjoyed a bevy of remixes. Subsequent songs include, "Sexy," where she shares mic duty with EMan, as well as "Tongue Twisted" and other forthcoming releases.
In addition to her spoken word and musical projects, Lorie is also a visual artist. You can find samples of her paintings at www.loriecaval.com and her collaborative series with photographer Muema, at www.muemaandlorie.com
