NTS aired an episode dedicated to the music of Wild Planet on 28 July 2020. Wild Planet has been played on NTS in shows including Where To Now Presents: Sapere Aude, featured first on 28 June 2018. Songs played include Moving On, Synthetic and 15 Love.

Wild Planet started out as a duo back in 1991 consisting of Simon J. Hartley and Richie Brook, while with Warp Records. Since then, Hartley is now the sole member. Simon J. Hartley's music is a mix of the finest Detroit elements mixed with the harder sounds of Germany. Wild Planet have released an extensive catalogue of material on various labels, up to the present: Warp Records, 430 West, Fnac and BPitch Control Records, to name but a few. There are also releases on Simon Hartley's own Imprint Wild Planet Records.

The most notable tracks that stand out are Electron - 1992 on Warp Records, Sundance - 1995 on Stockholm Records and Synthetic - 1998 on 430 West.
