David Wertman

International recording and touring artist David Wertman began his career in the 1960’s in New York City. He is established in the fields of modern and traditional Jazz, Big Band, and Show Entertainment.

His approach to the bass combines the pure resonant tone of the classicist with the swinging rhythms, innovative technique and emotional power of an experienced Jazz player. In his playing one can hear echoes of such legendary bassists as Charles Mingus, Paul Chambers and Ray Brown.

As a composer David has been recording his original music since 1976. His group “The Spirit Ensemble” has gained wide recognition and the critic’s acclaim.

Mr. Wertman is a bassist who is bound to impress his listening audience with a varied program, outstanding technique and original conception of Jazz Music
