Given all life leads to jazz we might as well take the scenic route. An uncanny hour of words and music from producer Phil Smith. Carefully formulated but never formulaic, an inclusive hour of the straight-ahead and the experimental.

Céu da Boca was a young brazilian singing group compound by eleven people. The members of Céu da Boca sang together with a bigger choral group in a Music School name “Pró Arte” in Rio de Janeiro. After one of rehearsal teachers was fired a part of the choral left leaving the original 11 group members of Céu da Boca, first named “Desbundetto” and renamed for the name they're known. The trebles Verônica Sabino, Rosa Lobo and Lidia Sacharny, the altos Maúcha Adnet, Paula Martins and Marcia Ruiz, the tenors Dalmo Medeiros, Chico Adnet and Ronald Valle and the bass Paulinho Malaguti and Paulo Roberto. With the difficulties of finding proper arrangement's for that kind of erudit repertoire they started creating their own, but still with the choral structure. Their first work was a jingle in 1979. After that they recorded with Wagner Tiso, Joyce, Cesar Camargo Mariano, Chico Buarque and Edu Lobo and others. In 1983 they were elected the best Vocal Group of the year by the Art Critics Association of São Paulo. Their best was in their live shows. The traditional choral uniforms were replaced by colorful and relaxed outfits. The show, theatrical, attracted young audience like they were. Their first works were presented à capella, but slowly they started adding instruments. They have two Lps, the first one, independent “Céu da Boca” and the second one “Baratotal” recorded by Polygram. The group was slowly growing apart in order to get their Solo careers and in 1984 the group was officially over. There are remastering projects of both their albums and best of's album.
