Docile

Docile

Docile has been played on NTS in shows including Lukid, featured first on 19 April 2018. Songs played include Jonah Reprise and Empty Fury.

There are at least 3 artists sharing the name Docile: 1) a French female vocalist, 2) a Dutch metal band (renamed Burial Earth), 3) a Canadian (?) band.

1) Docile, the french singer Docile, like a provocation to the character embodied by Lucile Dominique whose apparent ambivalence very quickly gives way to a very delicate message in the form of an Ode to Women: to complacent feminism, the writing of Docile opposes a vibrant "true story". Between whispers, languor, fiery declarations and disillusioned prayers, Docile delivers - with moving tenderness - a nuanced femininity.

Carried away by poetic emotion at the age of 16, Lucile Dominique landed in India: she came back even more sensitive to the fate reserved for women in a multi-speed world. She immediately stood out with the Oracle EP that she released under her name in 2017. Then, after diving into the world of electronic music and RnB, she got down to writing her EP "Indéfinissable" under the ironic nickname of "Docile", this "quality" still so often expected of badly idealized women… A particularly chiseled clip on "T'imagines même pas" sets her apart once again by a keen sense of visual and sound aesthetics. In June 2022, all the subtlety of his flirtation between French new wave and electro-synthpop – notably reminiscent of Juliette Armanet, Françoise Hardy, L'Impératrice, even Mylène Farmer – is found in his new single “Féminité”.

Spotted in many musical springboards and now supported by the iconic Marc Lapeyre (aka FKClub), she begins a series of live shows delivering an ode to the mischievous, militant and openly sensual femininity carried by the art-rock dandy class arrangements flirting between synth-wave and chill-clubbing.

2) Docile, the dutch metal band The story of Docile starts out in the fall of 2005, when three guys from the Netherlands started searching for a way to express their emotions, energy and faith. They didn’t limit themselves to any particular style, and through nightly jam sessions, Geert, Nanne, and Michiel came up with a song entitled “Fragile Commitment”. The three would need a front man to give a face to the band, and in April 2006, after a long search, Jan Jelte was brought on as vocalist and front man for the band. It wasn’t until around October of 2006, however, that the band started seriously buckling down and writing and rehearsing officially, which would result in six songs completed between October 2006 and January 2007. Five of these songs would end up on a demo entitled “Babylon Ablaze”, which was released later in 2007.

Among all this activity in the band’s schedule was their first live show, which would also occur in January of 2007. This would be followed up by several dates in the Ukraine, as well as numerous show dates in and around Holland. These shows were a great success, and it was due to this success that Docile entered the studio again to record two new tracks, which would see release in the form of an EP version of “Babylon Ablaze”, in November of 2007, in the European market.

Docile features overwhelming chaos, intense melodies, heavy soloing, and a powerful chord structure. They have not backed down one bit since they started, and the band has something to offer to fans of all genres of metal. Docile will be taking over the North American market for the first time with the release of Babylon Ablaze on Open Grave Records in late spring. Docile has renamed itself Burial Earth in 2008.
