FM: We think a lot about murmur, what Du Bois calls “the murmur of ages,” and we think about murmuration, that amazing shift of social formation that birds do in the air. SS: Like over Brighton pier. FM: “Murmuration” is a cool word because it bears the trace of the sound. It’s beautiful when you watch those movements, but it’s even more beautiful when you hear them. The internal differentiation of the swarm is absolute wealth. Extract from Refusing Completion: A Conversation Fred Moten, Stefano Harney, and Stevphen Shukaitis

Troubled Horse is a hard/psych rock band from Örebro, Sweden. The minds behind the band are singer and front man Martin Heppich, along with Witchcraft’s John Hoyles (guitar, backing vocals), Ola Henriksson (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Jens Henriksson (drums). The band combines the raw sounds of 60′s garage rock with the heavy riffs of 70′s psych-doom, resembling bands such as Dust and Lincoln Street Exit.
They released a single in 2010, and although the band formed in 2003, they waited nearly 10 years to release their debut album Step Inside, in 2012.
