Roberto Laneri has been played on NTS in shows including Play It As It Lathes w/ Zach Cowie, featured first on 3 November 2017. Songs played include Hut Song, La Caccia and Two Views Of The Amazon (1981).

Roberto Laneri, musician, studied philosophy at the Rome University, graduated in clarinet at the S. Cecilia Conservatory and obtained his B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo and the University of California, San Diego. Since 1972 he has been working on vocal techniques and states of consciousness: a founding member of the Extended Vocal Techniques group (a project of CME, UCSD), in 1973 created PRIMA MATERIA, a vocal improvisation group featured in the leading European contemporary music festivals. Roberto Laneri has led countless workshops in overtone singing, among others for the Freies Musik Zentrum (München), Metamusik Festival (Berlin), Holland Festival, Darmstadt Musikinstitut, A.S.T.P. (Zürich), Rome University “La Sapienza”, Italian Yoga Federation, Université Holistique (Paris), Pir Vilayat’s Sufi Order in the West, Atelier d’Exploration Harmonique (Marseilles), East-West Music Encounter (Bombay), Zürich Polyteknik, Italian Association of Analytical Psychology (AIPA). A frequent lecturer at scientific congresses, has been a guest at several TV programs, among which in Italy “Incredibile” (RAI 1), “Alla ricerca dell’Arca” (RAI 3), “Maurizio Costanzo Show” (Canale 5), and is the author of the book LA VOCE DELL’ARCOBALENO, published by Il Punto d’Incontro.

Composer and wind player (clarinets and saxophones, didjeridoo), overtone singer. Studied in the U.S. (Ph.D., University of California, San Diego). Has recorded, among others, with Charlie Mingus and Peter Gabriel, as well as under his name (Two Views, Anadyomene, Memories of the Rain Forest, Prima Materia, Sentimental Journey, Escher, Breath, Memorie Dal Sottosuolo). His book “La voce dell’arcobaleno” is published by Il Punto d’Incontro, Vicenza. Member of the Budapest Club, has taught at the Florence Conservatory till last year.
