David Mingyue Liang has been played on NTS shows including Space Afrika , with 跳月 = Moon Dance first played on 12 August 2017.

David Mingyue Liang (born in 1941, in Beijing) is a Chinese-American composer. He is familiar to many by virtue of his two pieces ("Music of a Thousand Springs" and "Zen (Ch'an) of Water") included on an album featuring Terry Riley's "In C". Liang Mingyue is also an ethnomusicologist and performer of Chinese musical instruments. He is among the foremost artists and authorities of the qin. Having received his B.A. in composition from the University of Hawaii, he obtained a Ph.D. (with honors in ethnomusicology) from the University of California Los Angeles. At UCLA, Liang Mingyue studied composition with Roy Harris, Henry Lazarof, and John Vincent, and won the Atwater Kent contemporary music composition prize twice.
