Sunstroke

Sunstroke has been played on NTS shows including Okonkole Y Trompa , with Boat People first played on 26 April 2017.

As the son of a musician (saxophonist), Ben didn’t escape from the music microbe. At the end of the 70s he appeared in various bands with colleagues as Tars Lootens, Dirk Blanchart, Alain Tant, Patrick Desmet, Piet Meeus, Patrick De Witte, Ronald Vanhuffel, Walter Stes, Willy Seeuws. At the beginning of the 80s’ he hung around at the “Arena “ musical theater and was recruited as a live keyboard player from the Jazz fusion band “Kandahar” .

In 1985 he went solo with Sunstroke (Etiene Delarue) and released the album “Nothing’s wrong in Paradise”. an album that received many reactions worldwide and in the meantime became a “cult album" by various reviews. His heart went more and more to the upcoming electronic instruments and Ben became a wizard in programming synths, sampling and soundscapes. At the end of the 80’s he founded “The Soundfactory" with Ignace van Hyfte, a specialty store for synths, midi-recording equipment.

In the meantime, he continued to work behind the scenes on soundtracks (live and in studio) and groups such as Neon, Pablo’s Eye, etc. Ultimately, the passion for music regained the upper hand when Ron De Rauw (as ol 'chaps) asked to join in Ron's "RD.RAW".
