1) Jimmy Owens is a jazz trumpeter, composer, arranger, lecturer, and music education consultant. He has played with Count Basie, Hank Crawford, Dizzy Gillespie, Lionel Hampton, Herbie Mann and many more. He was a member of the late 1960s hybrid classical and rock band, Ars Nova.

2) Jimmy Owens and Carol Owens are a husband and wife songwriting and author team. They are best known for the Christian children's album, Ants'hillvania which was nominated for the Grammy Award, Best Album for Children, for the Grammy Awards of 1982.
