On 2 May 2018, The Modern Institute was a guest on Melon Magic w/ Powell; and on 7 February 2018 was a guest on Melon Magic w/ Powell. The Modern Institute has been played over 40 times on NTS, first on 21 December 2016. The Modern Institute's music has been featured on 45 episodes.

The Modern Institute is the abstract, industrial side-project of Golden Teacher members Laurie Pitt and Richard McMaster. They released their eponymous debut EP in 2017, followed by a mini album "Another Exhibition at the Modern Institute" in 2018.
