Ike White

Ike White

Ike White has been played on NTS in shows including The NTS Breakfast Show w/ Flo, featured first on 22 July 2017. Songs played include Antoinette, Changin' Times and Changin' Times.

There are many "Ike Whites" in this world - let's give them a chance - so that the color of their skin does not make its final destination be behind bars"… These lines signed by Stevie Wonder himself give an idea of this interesting album.

In 1976, the label the based in the area of Los Angeles, California, brings to light an album by an artist called Ike White, Tehachapi prison inmate, a small town in the interior of the State. This data hinted at by the acknowledgements in the face of the disc to the Superintendent Jerry Emoto in the Correcionales Department of California and the rest of the staff of the prison "without whose help this project not could have been done"… and nothing more about Ike White nothing. The album, apart from the exceptional "Changin' times" that gives title to the Lp, includes another couple of notable topics, so your purchase is highly recommended. Production was provided by Jerry Goldstein, usual producer of other artists on the label and perhaps best known for his work with the Group War, famous for his collaboration with Eric Burdon.
