Mike Marsh and Klaus Ketelhohn formed The Agency in the summer of 1994 with a rotating cast of bass-players until Mike met Chris Drueke at a party in October 1995. From that point on The Agency had its first solid line-up and began playing South Florida clubs like Cheers, ClubQ, and Fubar. In 1997 they recorded their first CD "Rock to the Apocalypse" which did wonders for their popularity. In 1998 they did their first national tour with the Grey A.M. The Agency truly realized and tightened up their sound on that tour. They came home and recruited Chris Carrabba (Vacant Andys/Dashboard Confessional) on second guitar. In November 1999 they began recording "Engines" for Fiddler Records for a grand cost of $2500. The recording, through a frenzied pace, was able to capture much of the bands energy and live sound. Carrabba's schedule with his other band Further Seems Forever began to conflict with the Agency, so Carrabba left and Joe Williams joined. After about six months and an east coast tour, Willams left and was replaced by John Owens (Vacant Andys/Seville). Due to family tragedy and poor tours, the Agency ran out of steam in early 2001. Mike joined Dashboard Confessional, and Mike, John and Chris with Dan Bonebrake went on to form Seville. Seville lasted in some form or another until 2003. The Agency reformed in April 2003 to perform a reunion shows. Mike, Chris and Klaus realized that they still had a strong desire to play and write music together, so at the end of 2004 they began recording "Turn." The writing, recording, and mixing process took some time due to Mike's schedule with Dashboard Confessional, but the CD looks to be released by fall 2006.
