Rap giants Nas, RBX, KRS-One and B-Real, named together as Group Therapy, recorded and released a song called 'East Coast / West Coast Killas' on Dr. Dre's compilation album, 'Dr. Dre Presents… The Aftermath' (1996). The song conveys the message that the East Coast-West Coast hip hop rivalry of the time was unnecessary. The track uses a sample from Quincy Jones' song, 'Ironside'.

Group Therapy were a New York-based quintet active in the late 1960s. The group featured Ray Kennedy (b. 1947; vocals), Art Del Gudico (b. 1946; guitar), Jerry Guida (b. 1948, organ), Tommy Burns (b. 1947; drums) and Michael Lamont (b. 1948; drums). The group's debut album largely comprised of contemporary hits, notably "Hey Joe", "Morning Dew" and "Come See About Me" with a sound linked to the late sixties Long Island N.Y. area similar to Vanilla Fudge, Rascals etc. and Jimi Hendrix as evident by a version of the aforementioned "Foxy Lady", "Morning Dew", and "Hey Joe" in Jimi's style. An unknown quantity when they supported Moby Grape on a brief UK tour in 1968, Group Therapy impressed audiences with their exciting, soul-based stage act.
Group Therapy was a sort-lived British post-punk band formed out of the ashes of a Grimsby band called Skeleton Crew. Group Therapy featured Bill Brewster, Greg Hrding, Charlie Porter, Roy Bainton, Phil Dover and Richard Pardy. Their only release: 'Arty-Fact' b/w 'Drug Chic', released in 1983.
