Mono Fontana stage name Juan Carlos Fontana (b. 1959 in Buenos Aires ) is a musician, multi-instrumentalist (drums ,piano, guitar, etc.) and singer of rock and jazz in Argentina.

At age 10 he was already a professional musician and at 12 founded band Madre Atómica with Lito Epumer. Pedro Aznar joined later.

Between 1977 and 1980 joined the band Los Desconocidos de Siempre, first playing drums and later, piano.

In 1983 he joined the band of Luis Alberto Spinetta, with whom he recorded six albums.

Simultaneously he reorganized the band Madre Atómica, integrating it with Lito Epumer , Guillermo Vadalá and Jota Morelli, recording in 1986 album Madre Atómica.

In the nineties he accompanied several national and international musicians, and multi-instrumentalists including a trio with Santiago Vazquez and Martin Iannaccone. In 1997 he accompanied Spinetta in his acoustic concert for MTV. In 1998 he recorded his first solo album with the title of Ciruelo .
