Cult of Luna is an atmospheric sludge/doom metal/post-metal/post-hardcore band formed in 1998 in Umeå, Sweden by guitarist/vocalist Johannes Persson and vocalist Klas Rydberg, after the Swedish hardcore band Eclipse broke up. It began as a traditional sludge band and has slowly integrated greater degrees of post-rock into its sound.
