"In an electronic context, Heckadecimal comes across the industrial and techno genres with an analogue feeling. This is a one man project from Minneapolis, whose interesting moniker gives a title to a machinist sound cut with meticulous precision by enigmatic Gosh Heck. There is not much information regarding what he does, although the WORLDISFUKT phrase appears to be a constant in his digital channels. Not one to blame.
The music is not attached to one particular style. Even if some of his recent tracks clearly remind of early acid techno’s and classic IDM best moments, the rhythms vary from high BPM metrics to industrial details being chopped off in a careless yet tasteful way; and sometimes the percussion and low gain can even approach drum & bass structures, even if it happens just for a few moments. But analyzing the whole spectrum, the aesthetic remains in the dark techno atmospheres. It is evident that some of Heckadecimal’s beats are a mix of some beautiful synthesizer work, drum machines dropping beats and the composition blends are processed afterwards. The result is basically some top techno shit from the dystopic world."
