Mythical Beast has been played on NTS shows including Fractal Meat On A Spongy Bone, with Gone To Grey first played on 3 January 2017.

Part Pagan ceremony, part performance art, all sound, this band is unexpected and chilling.

Formed in pre-Katrina New Orleans, the doom soul/ drone outfit would continue onto Austin post storm. There the band wrote many of the songs that would later become Scales while living in FEMA delirium on a compound just east of Austin. Next the band would make their way to Kansas City where they were known for elusive, but unhinged shows in an underground scene noted for buried spectacle. Mythical Beast released Scales, its first full length album, on Language of Stone in October 2008.

Scales was released on vinyl on Not Not Fun and was a limited edition of 500.

Corinne and Jeremiah are currently writing songs for a side project called Ether Island. After a brief and glorious stint in the city of brotherly love, they now live in the badlands of New Mexico. Aaron currently resides happily, once again, in the city New Orleans.
