David Daniell has been played on NTS shows including Who's That Girl? w/ Leyla Pillai , with Echoes first played on 17 October 2016.

This is the duo of Chicago-based guitarists David Daniell and Douglas McCombs.

Daniell is known as a solo artist and member of the trio San Agustin as well as many collaborations. McCombs is a member of Eleventh Dream Day, Pullman, Tortoise, and Brokeback, and has worked with artists such as Tom Zé, Azita, Will Oldham, Yo La Tengo, and Calexico.



The duo has been performing regularly since 2006, often accompanied by a drummer - drummers have included Frank Rosaly (a staple of the Chicago jazz and improvised music scene); fellow Tortoise member John Herndon; and Steven Hess (a member of Pan American, Haptic, and On).
