Luc Ex

Luc Ex

Luc Ex has been played on NTS shows including Awkward Movements, with Ziganie first played on 1 October 2016.

Luc Ex (real name: Luc Klaassen, born De Bilt, The Netherlands, 1958) is an experimental/avant-garde Dutch musician and composer.

From 1983 to 2002 he was a member of legendary Dutch band, The Ex, whom he helped develop from an 'anarcho-punk' band to the sophisticated avant-garde group they are today. In 2000, Lux Ex was a key figure in the establishment of the Ex Orkest ('Ex Orchestra') and their first tour of Ethopia.

Lux Ex also played in groups such as Roof (with Tom Cora, Phil Minton and Michael Vatcher), 4Walls (with pianist, Veryan Weston), SOL6, SOL12, Regenochester XII (with Franz Hautzinger, Otomo Yoshihide, Fennesz and Tony Buck), Speeq (an improv quartet with Sidsel Edresen, Hasse Poulsen and Mark Sanders), Rubatong, Naked Wolf and his own jazz quartet, Luc Ex' Assemblée.
