Paudwal made her debut from a Sanskrit verse in the 1973 Hindi film Abhiman, composed by S. D. Burman. She has also sung in films including Marathi, Tamil, Odia, Nepali, Bengali and Kannada.

Early days and Success:- She started her music journey in 1973 from film Abhiman. In 1970s, she sang a few popular songs which were praised by the music composers as well as public.

She obtained popularity from her song Tu Mera Janu Hai in film Hero. After that in mid-80s, she sang along with Mohammed Aziz and gave one after one hit songs and established herself in the music industry. It was the time when Anuradha Paudwal was given preference over Mangeshkar sisters.

Anuradha's career started with the movie, Abhimaan, (starring Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan).

In 1976, she got her break as a playback singer in the movie, Kalicharan, (which starred Shatrugan Sinha and Reena Roy). Her first solo was in the movie, Aap Beeti, (starring Hema Malini and Shashi Kapoor). Laxmikant-Pyarelal was the music-composing duo for that movie. She also occasionally sang songs which were composed by Rajesh Roshan (Des Pardes), Jaidev (Dooriyan, Laila Majnu), Kalyanji-Anandji (Kalaakar, Vidhataa), and Usha Khanna (Souten, Sajan Bina Suhagan).

Anuradha sang in a few Marathi movies some memorable numbers such as "Disate Majalaa" (in the movie, Ashtavinayak), "Raja Lalakaari", and "Kaalyaa Maatita Maatitaa".

She gained recognition when she rendered some exceptional numbers for the movie, Hero. (Laxmikant-Pyarelal was the music-composing duo for Hero.)

She collaborated with movie producer, Gulshan Kumar, and her success streak began with the movies, Lal Dupatta Malmal Ka, Tezaab, Ashiqui, and Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin.

At her peak, Anuradha announced that thenceforth she would sing exclusively for the music company, "T-series", and concentrated on devotional songs and "cover-version" albums.

After a five year break she resumed playback singing for movies, including popular numbers like "Kismat Se Tum" (Pukar), "Akeli Hai Yeh Mis Khiladi" (Mr & Mrs Khiladi), "Zara Aankhon Se Kajal" (Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehtein Hai), "Chaha Hai Tujhko" (Mann), "Jogiya"' (Deewane) and "Intezar" (Paap).

Personal Life: She was married to Arun Paudwal (died 1991), a music composer, with whom she had a son Aditya and a daughter Kavita, a singer by profession. Anuradha survived a helicopter crash in 2002 in Madhya Pradesh. On 12 September 2020, her son Aditya died of kidney failure.
