The funky diva Karime Kendra from Los Angeles, California, hit the music scene in London in 1997 with her DJ Die of Reprazent remix of her song titled 'Chemical Imbalance'. She toured world renowned Festivals such as Montreaux Jazz Festival, Glastonbury, and Pink Pop just to name a few. As her voice became more known throughout the music industry so did her stage performance. Both her ability to sing live and perform well landed her fronting Red Snapper in 1999 and 2000. Early 2000 Karime recorded 'Play to the Music' for Organic Audio. The song got the filmmakers of John Travollta and Hale Berry starred 'Swordfish' excited. So they put it in the film and you hear Karime taking the scene into climax. In 2001 she performed with the Nextmen at the Lydmar Hotel to a crowd who left talking about the show and especially about Karime. She was asked to come back on her own and perform improvisationally with Dj Nibc at trägårn' in Gothenburg. There she also met the S.U.M.O. crew and recorded a song together titled 'Wintersong' wich was released on Africanism summer 2002.Out of that initial Swedish connection Karime met Dj Nibc and he asked her to perform at 'Ra' in Gothenburg, the crowd went mental as she sang over tunes spinned by Bert Bevans(original Studio 54, New York). Watch out for "Deliverance" by Karime Kendra soon available on Trunkfunk Records.
