1) Jeremy Barnes (born in Albuquerque, NM, in 1976) is an American drummer. The son of a local businessman, he moved to Chicago to attend Depaul University in 1995, but soon abandoned it in favour of a wandering life. He joined the then unknown Neutral Milk Hotel in 1996 until they disbanded in 1998. In 1996, he co-founded Bablicon, which split in 2001. In 1998, he joined The Gerbils which split in 1999, but reformed to tour in 2001 and 2004 before finally disbanding in 2006. In 2001 in France he formed A Hawk and a Hacksaw. Since then he has devoted his time to it and in 2005 he met Heather Trost, who became his primary foil in the band and in life. They currently live in Budapest, Hungary, and have expanded A Hawk and A Hacksaw's line-up over the years to include Hungarian, Romanian, and English musicians.
