Marc Sabat has been played on NTS in shows including SKYAPNEA, featured first on 23 April 2016. Songs played include Euler Lattice Spirals Scenery, Composition and Claudius Ptolemy.

Marc Sabat was born in 1965 in Canada. He studied at the University of Toronto (1982–86), the Juilliard School of Music in New York (1986–88) and with James Tenney in Toronto (1992–96). Since 1999 he has been living in Berlin. His work includes concert music for various ensembles including traditional instruments, computer and electronics, as well as music “sceneries” involving sound, video and sculptural elements.

Recent projects include a piece commissioned for the 2007 Donaueschingen Festival (wave piano scenery player, with Lorenzo Pompa), a string quartet played in Edenkoben by the Pellegrini Quartet (Beautiful City), a piece for video and two violinists to be presented by the KNM Berlin in Carnegie Hall (AUTOMAT, with Peter Sabat), and a work for Aki Takahashi and Rohan de Saram premiered in Buenos Aires (reminded of charlemagne palestine). His work is available through Plainsound Music Edition.

Sabat co-developed the Helmholtz-Ellis JI Pitch Notation with Wolfgang von Schweinitz, and teaches courses in composition, acoustics and experimental intonation at the Universität der Künste Berlin. In 2006–7 he was a visiting composer teaching at the California Institute of the Arts. He also performs as a chamber musician and soloist and has recorded for various labels including mode records, World Edition and HatArt.
