Dave Schmidt aka Sula Bassana is a german solo artist born the 27th of January 1968. He participated in many bands and projects, including quite popular space rock/ psychedelic rock band Weltraumstaunen that consisted of him and Andi from Growing Seeds. As Sula Bassana he released his debut album "Dreamer" in 2002, followed by two Albums, "Retronique" (split LP containing material from 1993 - 96, released in 2003) and "Sula Bassana and the Nasoni Pop Art Experimental Band Vol.1" (released in 2005) together with other artists. The name "sula bassana" is in fact the scientific name for the "Northern Gannet", in German "Basstölpel", which can be translated as something like "bass baboon"…
